Desta vez as crianças vão cantar com o Brazilian Voices (as meninas "grandes"). Elas cantarão uma música brasileira e farão o back vocal de "We are the World" em homenagem ao Michael Jackson. Semana que vem tem fotos e video.

This time the kids will sing along with the Brazilian Voices (the big girls). They will sing some Brazilian songs and do the back vocals of "We are the World", honoring Michael Jackson. Pictures and Videos coming next week.

Esse foi meu pequeno projeto enquanto as meninas estavam no Brasil. Uma mesa de $500 saiu por menos de $100, entre o custo da mesa (usada) e material.

This was my little project while the girls were in Brazil. A $500 dinner table costed me less than $100, between the cost of the (used) table and material.

Voltando ao normal / Back to business

Bom, as meninas voltaram e estamos todos bem. Tivemos a visita de nossa querida amiga Laura por uma curta semana, e agora nos preparamos pra volta as aulas da Beatriz semana que vem. A Sissi também já voltou ao batente, e colocamos o site www.sissiskitchen.com no ar.

Well, the girls are back, and we're OK now. We had our great friend Laura visiting us for a short week, and now we're getting ready to have Beatriz back to school next week. Sissi is also back to work, and her website www.sissiskitchen.com is up and running.

Projeto cômoda / Restoration project

Agora que eu tenho tempo, fiz um videozinho do projeto que terminei em Abril. Reformei a comoda da Beatriz, e transformei num armario para ela colocar os brinquedos que ficavam na garagem. O que voce acha?

Now that I have time, I've made a video of the project I finished in April. I restored a peace of furniture from Beatriz bedroom, e made it a place for her to organize her toys that used to be all over the garage. What do you think?

Aniversário da Beatriz / Bea's birthday

Pois é, nossa lindinha completa 9 anos. Ganhou uma bicicleta nova, está toda feliz. Hoje (se o tempo permitir) faremos uma festa surpresa pra ela na área da piscina do condomínio da Patrícia. Depois atualizo esse post com uma foto. FELIZ ANIVERSÁRIO BEATRIZ!!!

Yep, today our princess celebrates her 9th birthday. She got a brand new bicycle, and she's very happy. Today we will trow her a surprise party at Patrícia's community pool area. Later I publish a picture of the event. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEATRIZ!!!

Brazilian Voices Kids participated May 9th in the concert "Toquinho and Friends", where they performed the song "O Caderno" along with famous Brazilian singer Toquinho. They rocked!!!

Honor roll / Distinção honorária

É isso aí, a Beatriz mandou bem no segundo trimestre. Tirou "A" nas cinco matérias, recebeu certificado de distinção honorária das mãos do diretor da escola, café da manhã por conta da escola, e até carta da prefeita elogiando o esforço. E por cima de tudo, no final de semana levamos ela ao restaurante favorito e fomos no cinema. Pena que no 3. trimestre ela teve "só" 3 As e 2 Bs... Mas ainda tem o 4. trimestre, vamu lá!!!

All right, Beatriz rocked at school in the second quarter: straight As, honor roll certificate, breakfest at school and letter from the mayor of Pembroke Pines. On top of that, we took her to her favorite restaurant and to the teather. Too bad in the 3rd quarter she got "just" 3 As and 2 Bs... Lets rock and roll in the 4th quarter!!!

Ano novo, joelho novo / New year, new knee

Como muitos sabem, eu tinha um joelho pobre fazia muito tempo. No último ano ele começou a incomodar-me mais, e decidi correr atrás para arrumar essa parada. Graças ao Edu, um amigo que fez a mesma operação de reconstrução do ligamento, eu encontrei o Dr. Desimone (em azul) e seu assistante, Eric. A cirurgia foi beleza, já não preciso mais da proteção como na foto e caminho normalmente. A recuperação total, no entanto, vai mais 6 meses. Em outras palavras, a fisioterapia é f... mas estou fazendo 3 vezes por semana. Agora sou parcialmente americano, já que usaram o ligamento de um John Doe ("Zé ninguem" cadáver) daqui :)

As many of you know, I had a bad knee for quite a long time. Last year it started to bother me more and more, and I decided to fix it. Thanks to Edu, a friend who had the same ACL reconstruction surgery, I found Dr. Desimone (left) and his assistant, Eric. The surgery went fine, I am no longer using those braces e I can walk normaly now. The full recovery, though, will take another six months.. In other words, the phisio therary is a b**ch, but I am doing it 3 times a week. And now I'm partially american, since they used an American John Doe's ligament :)
